The population crisis is bound to have a devastating effect on the world’s finite and already dwindling supply of drinking water. Solution? 30 years ago, Prince Mohammed al Faisal of Saudi Arabia considered a plan to tow a 100 million-ton iceberg from Antarctica to the Arabian peninsula. Others continue to insist that the same tactic would work in Australia, Africa, and California. But British scientist, John Beddington, suggests that better water storage and cleaner energy supplies are more likely to help. More on the subject here.
